Budapest (Budapeszt)

My dearest Sons,
Last time I wrote you that I love to travel - so today I am going to tell you about the city I was visiting recently and which I liked VERY MUCH. This city is a capitol of Hungary and it is called BUDAPEST. Where does this name come from? Long time ago Budapest was in fact two separate cities, Buda and Pest, lying on two sides of the beautiful river Danube.

Dawno temu Budapeszt to były dwa różne miasta, Buda i Peszt, leżące nad piękną rzeką - Dunajem.

On the picture here you see Pest on the other bank of the river (with beautiful building of Hungarian Parliament), while on the same side is Buda with old Citadel, from which I took this photo) and even older Buda Castle.

Where else could you hear the name "Danube"? Danube is also going through the capitol of Austria - Vienna, and capitol of Slovakia - Bratislava. I worked in Vienna for over 4 years and in Bratislava lives my close friend Jan Urban, who knows you and always remembers to pass you his bests.
Skąd jeszcze możecie znać Dunaj? Dunaj przepływa też przez stolicę Austrii - Wiedeń i Słowacji - Bratysławę. We Wiedniu pracowałem ponad 4 lata, a w Bratysławie mieszka mój bliski przyjaciel Jan Urban, który zawsze o Was pamięta i prosi, aby Was pozdrowić.

How did we end up there? We were invited to Budapest by my very good friend Attila, who also showed us amazing places rarely visited by tourists, like the small "shelf" above the tunnel going under the Buda Castle, from which I took this picture of Old Chain Bridge at night.

Do Budapesztu zaprosił nas mój serdeczny przyjaciel Attila, który pokazał nam niesamowite miejsca jak półka nad tunelem pod zamkiem, z którego zrobiliśmy to zdjęcie starego wiszącego mostu.

No picture can really tell you how beautiful this city is, how nice people are, and how much history is hidden behind every corner...
I would love to go back there once again with you,
I love you,
Dad

Żadne zdjęcie nie pokaże jak śliczne jest to miasto, jak mili są ludzie i jak wiele historii czai się na każdym rogu...
Chciałbym jeszcze wrócic tam kiedyś z Wami,
Kocham Was,
Tata
